2 Seater Dune Buggy 1000 CC

The easiest way to self-drive a dune buggy in Dubai. A two-seater, automatic, 1000 CC side-by-side with a roll cage, 5-point harness and windshield — built for first-timers, couples and anyone who wants the Lahbab Red Desert without the learning curve. Price is per buggy, not per person.

What is the 2 Seater 1000 CC Dune Buggy?

The 2 Seater 1000 CC is a two-seat off-road side-by-side with a 1000 cc petrol engine, automatic transmission, a steel roll cage, 5-point racing harnesses and a windshield. It is the entry model in our Dubai fleet — the same buggy you'll see on most tourism posters of Lahbab Desert — and the buggy we hand to first-time off-road drivers, couples on a date night and solo travelers testing the sport for the first time.

Because it is automatic, there is no clutch, no gear stick and no learning curve. You press the accelerator to go, the brake to stop, and you steer with a standard round steering wheel. Anyone with a valid driving license — any country, any age over 18 — can drive it after our 15-minute safety briefing. The 1000 cc engine gives you plenty of power to crest every dune in the Lahbab circuit without being intimidating on the descents.

The price is always per buggy, not per person. Two riders pay the same fee — which makes this the cheapest way for a couple or two friends to experience a Dubai dune buggy ride. The complete price list for every duration (15 min, 30 min, 1 hour, 2 hours) lives on our external booking form, so you can compare slots before you commit.

Safety First

Built, Inspected & Licensed by the Book

Every 2 Seater 1000 CC in our Lahbab camp is operated under the Dubai Department of Economy & Tourism (DTCM) licensing framework. Each buggy carries a steel roll cage, 5-point racing harnesses, a windshield and a kill-switch. Every unit is inspected before each session by our fleet team — that is why our buggies don't break down mid-desert.

Our lead guides have years of combined Lahbab experience. They ride ahead on a quad bike, choose a safe line, and stop the group the moment any rider raises a hand. Nervous first-timers finish the ride smiling — we adjust the pace to your group, not the other way around.

What To Wear

  • 👕 Light, breathable long-sleeve top (keeps the sand off)
  • 👖 Long trousers or jeans (not shorts)
  • 👟 Closed shoes — sneakers or trainers
  • 🕶️ Sunglasses (we provide goggles too)
  • 🧴 Sunscreen (desert sun is strong)
  • 🧣 Light scarf or buff (to wrap around nose/mouth if the wind kicks up)
  • 💧 A small bottle of water (we also provide one)
  • 📸 Phone in a zip pocket or strap (no selfie sticks in-ride)

Yamaha Raptor 700 is genuinely fast, not a toy quad like some operators hand you. Guide kept the convoy tight on the dunes.

Hot air balloon at dawn then breakfast in the camp — faultless from pickup to drop-off. The falconry display was a lovely touch.

First time on a buggy and the Can-Am Maverick was easy to handle even for a nervous beginner. Staff kept the pace slow until I settled.

Loved that the belly dancer performed close enough that even the shy ones in our group got pulled up to dance. Great BBQ too.

Great value on the Private Morning Safari — just my wife and me with the driver, so we stopped for photos whenever we wanted.

Six of us did the Private Evening Safari with the BBQ — having our own vehicle meant zero waiting at each stop. Well run.

Honestly wasn't expecting much from a quad add-on, but 30 minutes on the Yamaha was one of the better parts of the whole safari.
