What your family day looks like
- Pickup (08:00 or 15:30): Air-conditioned 4x4 at your hotel lobby, car seats available on request.
- Basecamp arrival (45 min later): Gear fitting for every family member, bathroom break, cold drinks for the kids.
- Briefing (7 min): Kids get their own child-friendly version. Everyone learns hand signals together.
- Desert ride (60–90 min): Guide drives, family enjoys. Photo stops every 15 minutes, pace adjusted to youngest rider.
- Rest stop with snacks: Arabic tea, dates, biscuits, fresh fruit. Photos at a scenic dune ridge.
- Return ride & drop-off: Back at the hotel by late morning or early evening, energy spent, memory card full.
Family FAQ
Can my 6-year-old ride?+
Children 5 to 7 can ride in a parent-driven private buggy with advance approval. Please WhatsApp us with the child's age, weight and height for sizing. Our guides also carry smaller child-sized harness inserts for this age group.
Are there seat belts for kids?+
Yes — four-point racing harnesses, not lap belts. They are adjusted to fit each child snugly by our guide before the ride starts. We do not use adult harnesses on smaller frames.
What if my child gets scared?+
The guide will stop immediately. We can slow the pace, take a longer rest break, skip steeper dunes, or finish early if needed. If a child is unable to continue, we return to base and issue a partial refund — no questions asked.
Can we combine with camel riding for younger kids?+
Yes. Our For camel + buggy combo ask about the half-day combo (quote on request). Camels are kid-favourites and give younger siblings a turn if they are too small for the buggy harness.
