When Dubai balloons actually fly
Dubai's hot air balloon season runs from October to April. In summer months (May–September) the desert heat and thermal turbulence make flights unsafe — no reputable operator flies in Dubai summer. This is the single most-asked question we get, so it's worth putting up front.
Within the winter season, we fly almost every morning — weather cancellation rate is roughly 1 in 20 flights. When we cancel, you get a full refund or a free reschedule, your choice.

What cancels a flight
Wind > 8 knots
Balloons struggle to launch safely above 8 kt surface wind.
Any rain
Rain wets the envelope fabric and eliminates lift.
Low cloud or fog
Pilot needs visibility to pick the landing field.
Thunderstorm alerts
Any convective weather in the flight zone = immediate cancel.

When's the absolute best time of year to fly?+
January and February. Coolest air, most stable winds, lowest cancellation rate. Book 2 weeks ahead.
How will I know if my flight is cancelled?+
WhatsApp message 2 hours before pickup — usually around 02:00 the morning of the flight. You can sleep through the cancellation notice; we'll refund or reschedule without needing a reply.
Can I reschedule if I don't like the weather even though you're flying?+
Yes — as long as you let us know the day before, we'll reschedule without charge. Same-day cancellation loses the booking.
Is it really unsafe to fly in May?+
Yes. Surface temperatures exceed 40°C even at dawn, which reduces lift dramatically. Thermal turbulence at altitude is also unsafe for passenger balloons.
