Quad Biking Dubai FAQ
The 20 questions we actually get asked on WhatsApp every day, answered by riders who run the tours.
Start here
You do not need a driving licence to ride a quad in Dubai — the desert is private land. You can ride from age 6 on the Raptor 90 kids fleet, or age 16 solo on the adult Raptor 700. Every ride includes helmet, gloves, guide, fuel, water and insurance.
Common questions
Do I need a driving licence for quad biking in Dubai?+
No. Quad biking happens on private desert land, not public roads, so a car licence is not required. You do need to follow the camp briefing and ride within the guide's rules.
What is the minimum age to ride a quad?+
6 years old on the Raptor 90 kids fleet. 16 years old to drive a Raptor 700 solo on the adult format. Children 8+ can ride as a passenger on the double-seater with a parent driving.
Is quad biking in Dubai dangerous?+
It's an adventure activity, so there is always some risk, but serious incidents on guided rides are very rare. Helmets, gloves, briefing, guide supervision and fleet maintenance are all mandatory.
What should I wear for quad biking in the desert?+
Closed shoes (no sandals), long trousers if possible, a long-sleeve shirt, sunglasses, sunscreen, and a bandana or face covering for sand — we can lend one if you don't have one.
Does quad biking run in summer?+
Yes, year-round. In the summer (June–September) we run sunrise slots only, starting 05:30, to beat the heat. We do not run afternoon slots in July and August.
Can I ride if I have never driven a quad before?+
Yes — most of our riders are first-timers. The briefing covers throttle, braking, cornering and emergency stop before you set off, and you warm up on flat sand first.
Are the quads automatic or manual?+
Our Raptor 700 fleet uses semi-automatic sport-shift — you only change gears if you choose to. Beginners happily ride in one gear the whole time.
Is insurance included in the price?+
Yes. Every package includes third-party liability and guest accident cover. Personal travel insurance is still recommended for international visitors.
How fast do the quads go?+
The Raptor 700 tops out around 120 km/h on tarmac but in the soft Lahbab sand you'll rarely exceed 50–60 km/h — speed is limited more by the dunes than the engine.
Can pregnant women ride a quad bike?+
We do not recommend quad biking during pregnancy. The sudden vibrations, body jolts and risk of impact are not compatible with a safe pregnancy. A camel ride or sunset camp is a better choice.
Can I cancel or reschedule?+
Yes — free reschedule up to 24 hours before, and free cancellation up to 48 hours before. See the cancellation policy for the full terms.
