What makes Abu Dhabi desert tours different
Abu Dhabi's desert is bigger, emptier and redder than Dubai's. The Liwa Empty Quarter (Rub' al Khali) is 2 hours south of the city and contains the tallest dunes in the UAE, some rising to 250 metres. Al Ain to the east has the oasis-edge desert, Moreeb Dune, and Jebel Hafeet. Yas Island has curated adventure zones closer to the city for guests short on time.

The Liwa Empty Quarter has taller dunes and feels more remote — the 2-hour drive to reach it is part of the experience. Dubai's desert is closer, more accessible, and busier. Both are worth doing if you have the time.
How far is Liwa from Abu Dhabi city?+
About 2 hours by road. We pick you up early (05:00 for a full-day) and leave the city immediately. It's the biggest logistical lift in any UAE desert tour.
Is hotel pickup from Yas, Saadiyat and downtown included?+
Yes — all standard Abu Dhabi hotel zones get convenient pickup. Yas and downtown are closer to Liwa than Corniche hotels.
Can I do Liwa and Dubai in one trip?+
