Never Driven Off-Road? Start Here.

Eight out of ten customers tell us this is their first time behind the wheel of anything off-road. That is exactly who we build this experience for. Full briefing, protected practice loop, a guide who watches every turn and adjusts the pace to you. From AED 600 for a 30-minute taster.

The three fears — and why they usually melt away

"I'll flip the buggy."

At guided speeds (max 40 km/h for first-timers) and on the dune lines we pick, flipping is extremely rare. The buggy is wider than it is tall, has a low centre of gravity, and carries a roll cage + four-point harness if the unexpected happens.

"I'll get stuck."

You might — and if you do, the guide is a minute behind in the rescue 4x4. We tow you out, reset the line, and carry on. "Stuck" is a story to tell later, not a crisis.

"I won't know what to do."

The controls are a steering wheel, accelerator and brake — identical to any car. The only difference is dropping off a soft dune crest, and the guide shows you exactly how on the practice loop before you see a real dune.

How we protect first-timers specifically

Slower pace for the whole ride

If you tell us at check-in it is your first time, we put you second in the convoy (right behind the guide) and set the pace to 30–40 km/h until the guide sees you are comfortable. Most riders ask to go faster by minute 20.

Softer dune lines

Your guide knows every dune in Lahbab, Al Qudra and Margham. For first-timers we route around the steepest crests and pick rolling, forgiving dunes that look dramatic but ride easy.

Unlimited stops

You can ask to pause at any point — to catch your breath, take photos, swap driver, or just regroup. No extra charge, no judgement, and no "we have to keep going".

Exit option

If halfway through you decide it is not for you, we take you back to base in the support 4x4 and refund the unused time. It is extremely rare, but the option exists, and nobody shames you for using it.

First-Timer FAQ

I have never driven off-road. Can I really do this?+

Yes. Most of our customers are first-timers. Controls are identical to a car. The briefing + practice loop prepares you fully before the first dune.

What if I panic during the ride?+

Raise your hand and the guide stops the convoy immediately. You can take a break, swap to passenger, or return to base. Zero pressure.

Should I book 1 hour or 2 hours for my first time?+

Start with 1 hour. Almost everyone who books 1 hour ends up extending in the desert because they are loving it. This way you don't commit to 2 hours upfront and can upgrade on the day.

What if I don't have a licence at all?+

Book a guided tour instead — you ride as a passenger and our certified guide drives. You still get the full desert experience and amazing photos, just without driving duties.

Booked the Can-Am Maverick X3 Turbo for sunset and my arms were sore for two days — worth every dirham. Machines felt brand new.

Evening Desert Safari with the BBQ dinner was the highlight of our whole Dubai trip. Fire show had the kids glued.

Yamaha Raptor 700 is genuinely fast, not a toy quad like some operators hand you. Guide kept the convoy tight on the dunes.

Pickup from our hotel in Marina was right on time and the driver knew exactly where he was going. Smooth from start to finish.

Took the 4 Seater Polaris RZR with my family — all four of us fit and the roll cage made my mother-in-law feel safe.

Hot air balloon at dawn then breakfast in the camp — faultless from pickup to drop-off. The falconry display was a lovely touch.

First time on a buggy and the Can-Am Maverick was easy to handle even for a nervous beginner. Staff kept the pace slow until I settled.

Rode the KTM 450 dirt bike after messaging on WhatsApp for pricing — the instructor spent a solid fifteen minutes on basics first.

Went with my sister for the Morning Desert Safari since we didn't want a late night. Dune bashing was smoother than I expected.

Loved that the belly dancer performed close enough that even the shy ones in our group got pulled up to dance. Great BBQ too.

Great value on the Private Morning Safari — just my wife and me with the driver, so we stopped for photos whenever we wanted.

Six of us did the Private Evening Safari with the BBQ — having our own vehicle meant zero waiting at each stop. Well run.

Rented the Can-Am Maverick X3 for the morning and it's a different beast — way more grip on the sand and real turbo punch.

My husband wanted a quad and I wanted a proper dinner, so the Evening Safari plus the 30-minute ATV solved the argument perfectly.

Second time booking a safari in Dubai and this crew beat the first company by a mile, especially on how organised the pickup was.

Kids on the fenced kids quad, us on the Kymco singles — the whole family rode and nobody felt left out. Helmets fit properly.

Honestly wasn't expecting much from a quad add-on, but 30 minutes on the Yamaha was one of the better parts of the whole safari.

Upgraded last minute to the Premium hot air balloon and the desert safari after landing was the best breakfast of the holiday.

Everything on the Evening Safari ran on time, which after two other operators cancelled on us felt like a small miracle.

Zero pressure the whole time — the lead guide read how confident each of us was and adjusted the route on the dunes to match.

Whole trip exceeded what I'd pictured, mostly because of how empty the dunes felt even in peak season. Would book again in a heartbeat.
