Open Desert Guided Convoy No License

Kymco Single Seater Quad Bike

The real deal for adult first-timers. A Kymco single-rider ATV on the open deep desert route of the Lahbab Red Desert — automatic CVT, guided convoy, no boundary fence. A lead rider picks the line, you follow through unrestricted dunes. No driving license required. Age 16+. Price is per rider.

What is the Kymco Single Seater Quad Bike?

The Kymco Single Seater is the step-up ATV in our Lahbab fleet — one rider, four fat tires, automatic CVT and a 400cc petrol engine under the seat. Kymco (a Taiwanese manufacturer) builds some of the most reliable recreational quads in the world, which is why we put it on the open deep desert route and not the fenced beginner loop. The thumb-throttle and hand-lever brakes are the same as the COBRA — the difference is the terrain under you.

A lead guide rides ahead on a Raptor and picks the safe line through soft sand, avoids hidden drops and sets the group speed to match the least experienced rider. You ride the guide's tracks, crest real dunes, stop for photos and — unlike the fenced track — actually get to feel the desert open up in every direction. No driving license is required because you are on private desert land, but we lift the minimum age to 16 for this route.

Price is per rider: AED 250 for 30 minutes, AED 400 for 1 hour, AED 650 for 2 hours. Everything you need is bundled: helmet, goggles, fuel, briefing, lead guide and Dubai hotel pickup. Ready for more power? The Yamaha or the Raptor 700 (manual) is the next rung up.

Safety First

Open Desert, Guided Line, Zero Guesswork

The Kymco is operated under the Dubai Department of Economy & Tourism (DTCM) licensing framework. Every unit is inspected before each session. Out on the open desert your safety net is the lead guide — they know every soft pocket, every hidden crest, every exit route — so you never point the quad at something you can't see the other side of.

Helmets and anti-sand goggles are mandatory. The group rides in a spaced convoy — far enough apart that nobody clips the rider ahead, close enough that the sweep guide at the back can see everyone. If anything feels wrong you raise your hand — the group stops, no questions. Most first-timers come off smiling and ask about upgrading to the Raptor next time.

What To Wear

  • 👕 Light, breathable long-sleeve top (blocks sun and kicked sand)
  • 👖 Long trousers or jeans (not shorts — sand at speed stings bare legs)
  • 👟 Closed shoes — sneakers or trainers. No sandals.
  • 🕶️ Sunglasses for the drive out (we also provide goggles)
  • 🧴 Sunscreen SPF 30+
  • 🧣 Light buff or scarf for nose/mouth in windy conditions
  • 💧 Small water bottle (we also provide one)
  • 📸 Phone in a zip pocket or strap (no selfie sticks during the ride)

Questions we get every day about this quad. For anything else — WhatsApp us.

How much is the Kymco Single Seater Quad Bike?+
The Kymco on the open deep desert starts from AED 250 for 30 minutes. 1-hour sessions are AED 400. 2-hour sessions are AED 650. Price is per rider and includes Convenient Hotel Pickup, helmet, goggles, briefing, fuel and a lead guide.
What is the difference between the Kymco and the COBRA quad?+
COBRA rides the fenced beginner track with on-track supervision — min age 14. Kymco rides the open Lahbab dunes in a guided convoy — min age 16. Same automatic CVT, same no-license rule. Kymco is the natural step up once you feel ready.
Do I need a driving license for the Kymco?+
No. Quad riding at Lahbab is off-road recreation on private desert land. No license required. Minimum age 16. All riders get a 10-minute safety briefing before convoy departure.
Is the Kymco automatic or manual?+
Automatic CVT. No clutch, no gear shift. Thumb-lever throttle on the right handlebar, hand-lever brakes. Easier to learn than a motorbike — anyone comfortable on a bicycle can manage it in 10 minutes.
How does the guided convoy work?+
A lead guide rides ahead of the group on a Raptor, picks the safe line through soft sand and avoids hidden drops. You follow the tracks at your own pace. A sweep guide rides at the back. Group speed is set to the least experienced rider.

Convenient Hotel Pickup & drop-off, 10-minute safety briefing, DOT-approved helmet, anti-sand goggles, full tank of fuel, certified lead guide, unlimited mineral water at camp, and all taxes. No hidden fees on the day.

Booked the Can-Am Maverick X3 Turbo for sunset and my arms were sore for two days — worth every dirham. Machines felt brand new.

Yamaha Raptor 700 is genuinely fast, not a toy quad like some operators hand you. Guide kept the convoy tight on the dunes.

Hot air balloon at dawn then breakfast in the camp — faultless from pickup to drop-off. The falconry display was a lovely touch.

First time on a buggy and the Can-Am Maverick was easy to handle even for a nervous beginner. Staff kept the pace slow until I settled.

Loved that the belly dancer performed close enough that even the shy ones in our group got pulled up to dance. Great BBQ too.

Great value on the Private Morning Safari — just my wife and me with the driver, so we stopped for photos whenever we wanted.

Six of us did the Private Evening Safari with the BBQ — having our own vehicle meant zero waiting at each stop. Well run.

Kids on the fenced kids quad, us on the Kymco singles — the whole family rode and nobody felt left out. Helmets fit properly.

Honestly wasn't expecting much from a quad add-on, but 30 minutes on the Yamaha was one of the better parts of the whole safari.
