Four hours. Three drive legs. Two rest stops. One untouched desert.

240 minutes of driving · Two rest stops included · Sunrise or sunset dispatch

What is a half day dune buggy Dubai expedition?

A half-day dune buggy Dubai expedition is a 4-hour guided self-drive tour across the Lahbab red-sand desert in a 2- or 4-seat off-road buggy. The tour is split into three driving legs separated by two Bedouin-style rest stops, includes a dedicated photo session, covers roughly 80 – 100 kilometres of dune trails. Rates start at Quote on Request per vehicle and total door-to-door time is 6.5 – 7 hours.

Half day dune buggy FAQ

Questions from real guests

What does a half-day dune buggy in Dubai include? +

Four full hours of driving time in the Lahbab desert split across three legs, two Bedouin-style rest stops with unlimited mineral water, a dedicated photo session on a signature dune ridge, complimentary Dubai hotel pickup and return, safety gear, water, insurance and fuel. A packed lunch can be added on request.

How much is a half-day dune buggy Dubai?+

Half-day is quote-based per buggy + group size + add-ons. 2-hour tier baseline: 2 Seater 1000 CC AED 1,750, 2 Seater 1000 CC Turbo AED 2,200, 4 Seater Can-Am Max AED 3,800, 2 Seater Can-Am X3 Turbo RR AED 4,200. Half-day adds a 3rd driving leg + extra rest stop + optional packed lunch + sunrise dispatch + private convoy options — full quote on WhatsApp within 15 minutes. All prices include Convenient Hotel Pickup, fuel, safety gear, photo session, and certified guide.

How long will I be out of my hotel on a half-day booking?+

Total door-to-door time is around 6.5 to 7 hours. That covers 45 minutes pickup drive, 20 minutes briefing and gear-up, four hours driving plus two rest stops totalling 40 minutes, photo session, and 45 minutes return drive.

Is a half-day dune buggy too long for first-timers?+

It depends on how fit you are. The two rest stops are exactly 20 minutes each to keep fatigue manageable, and power steering removes most of the arm strain. If you have never ridden off-road before, the 2-hour slot is usually enough — book the half-day when you already know you love it, or when you travel with a keen group.

Can I book a half-day dune buggy with a packed lunch?+

Yes. Add the packed lunch option when you book on WhatsApp and we include a cool bag with sandwiches, fresh fruit, dates, cold juice and water, which the guide brings to the second rest stop. Dietary preferences — vegetarian, halal, gluten-free — are easy to accommodate if you tell us 24 hours in advance.

Is the half-day available at sunrise?+

Yes — the 04:30 sunrise half-day is one of our most atmospheric slots. Pickup is around 04:30, you are driving by 05:15, and you watch the sun come up from a dune crest with your guide. Temperatures are cooler, tracks are freshly groomed and the light is unbeatable for photos.

Can I drive a different buggy after the rest stop?+

Yes — on half-day private convoys we offer a vehicle swap at the second rest stop for guests who want to try a different machine. For example, start in the 2 Seater 1000 CC Turbo, swap to the Can-Am X3 Turbo RR flagship after the camp. This needs to be booked in advance so the second buggy is available.

How does the half-day compare to the 2-hour package?+

The 2-hour is the sweet spot — it gets you into the inner dunes and includes one Bedouin camp stop. The half-day is the expedition upgrade. You double the drive time, add a second rest stop and a dedicated photo session, reach the deepest part of Lahbab that 2-hour tours turn back before, and you have time to try multiple vehicles or lines. Pick the half-day if the desert is the main reason you came to Dubai.

Booked the Can-Am Maverick X3 Turbo for sunset and my arms were sore for two days — worth every dirham. Machines felt brand new.

Evening Desert Safari with the BBQ dinner was the highlight of our whole Dubai trip. Fire show had the kids glued.

Yamaha Raptor 700 is genuinely fast, not a toy quad like some operators hand you. Guide kept the convoy tight on the dunes.

Pickup from our hotel in Marina was right on time and the driver knew exactly where he was going. Smooth from start to finish.

Took the 4 Seater Polaris RZR with my family — all four of us fit and the roll cage made my mother-in-law feel safe.

Hot air balloon at dawn then breakfast in the camp — faultless from pickup to drop-off. The falconry display was a lovely touch.

First time on a buggy and the Can-Am Maverick was easy to handle even for a nervous beginner. Staff kept the pace slow until I settled.

Went with my sister for the Morning Desert Safari since we didn't want a late night. Dune bashing was smoother than I expected.

Loved that the belly dancer performed close enough that even the shy ones in our group got pulled up to dance. Great BBQ too.

Great value on the Private Morning Safari — just my wife and me with the driver, so we stopped for photos whenever we wanted.

Six of us did the Private Evening Safari with the BBQ — having our own vehicle meant zero waiting at each stop. Well run.

Honestly wasn't expecting much from a quad add-on, but 30 minutes on the Yamaha was one of the better parts of the whole safari.

Whole trip exceeded what I'd pictured, mostly because of how empty the dunes felt even in peak season. Would book again in a heartbeat.
