The Can-Am Maverick X3 Turbo is a turbocharged two-seat side-by-side built for extreme off-road terrain. At 195 horsepower with a 64-inch track width and a long three-link rear suspension, it is the dune buggy professional desert drivers choose for big-line riding in the Dubai desert. Specs reflect Can-Am factory figures for the Maverick X3 Turbo RR trim; our fleet includes both RR and standard Turbo variants.

Why riders upgrade to the X3

01

Three-link rear = it floats

On whoops and razorbacks the X3 TTX rear keeps the wheels planted while the chassis stays composed. Standard buggies bounce. The X3 skates.

02

64" stance means no tipping

Wider than most side-by-sides on the market. You can lean hard into a bowl without the pucker-factor that comes with narrower chassis.

03

Turbo pulls forever

Where a naturally-aspirated buggy runs out of breath halfway up a 50-metre dune face, the X3 keeps pulling to the crest. Top-outs are a non-event.

04

Cockpit is a statement

Four-point harness, double roll cage, removable door nets, digital dash. Feels closer to a Dakar trophy truck than a rental.

05

It looks like nothing else

Orange and black factory livery with the wide stance makes this the buggy every other group stops to photograph. Content wins itself.

06

Lead guide opens the lines

Because you are in a machine that can actually keep up, our senior guides will show you the lines they normally save for themselves. That is the real reason to upgrade.

X3 Turbo FAQs

Do I need a driving licence?+

Yes — the X3 Turbo is a performance machine and we ask for a valid driving licence (home country or international) before we put you in the driver's seat. Passengers do not need one, and longer rides let you switch seats at the halfway stop.

How fast will I actually go?+

The X3 Turbo is capable of freeway speeds — but in sand we run it inside a safe working window. On long dune straights you will feel every bit of the 195 hp; in tight bowls we dial it back so you stay in control. Plenty of adrenaline, none of the stupid.

Is the X3 Turbo harder to drive than a regular buggy?+

It is wider, faster and the throttle is sharper — so first-timers usually start on our standard 1000cc buggy and upgrade mid-ride after the guide gives the thumbs-up. Returning riders and anyone with previous off-road experience can jump straight into the X3 after the briefing.

What is included with an X3 Turbo ride?+

Fuel, helmet, goggles, full DTCM insurance, lead guide vehicle, water, photo stops and hotel pickup across most Dubai zones. If you want dashcam footage for social content, just ask at check-in — we record it for you and WhatsApp it the same evening.

Booked the Can-Am Maverick X3 Turbo for sunset and my arms were sore for two days — worth every dirham. Machines felt brand new.

Evening Desert Safari with the BBQ dinner was the highlight of our whole Dubai trip. Fire show had the kids glued.

Yamaha Raptor 700 is genuinely fast, not a toy quad like some operators hand you. Guide kept the convoy tight on the dunes.

Pickup from our hotel in Marina was right on time and the driver knew exactly where he was going. Smooth from start to finish.

Took the 4 Seater Polaris RZR with my family — all four of us fit and the roll cage made my mother-in-law feel safe.

Hot air balloon at dawn then breakfast in the camp — faultless from pickup to drop-off. The falconry display was a lovely touch.

First time on a buggy and the Can-Am Maverick was easy to handle even for a nervous beginner. Staff kept the pace slow until I settled.

Rode the KTM 450 dirt bike after messaging on WhatsApp for pricing — the instructor spent a solid fifteen minutes on basics first.

Went with my sister for the Morning Desert Safari since we didn't want a late night. Dune bashing was smoother than I expected.

Loved that the belly dancer performed close enough that even the shy ones in our group got pulled up to dance. Great BBQ too.

Great value on the Private Morning Safari — just my wife and me with the driver, so we stopped for photos whenever we wanted.

Six of us did the Private Evening Safari with the BBQ — having our own vehicle meant zero waiting at each stop. Well run.

Sandboarding then the camel ride at the camp kept my two kids happy for hours, which honestly never happens. Booking was quick.

Rented the Can-Am Maverick X3 for the morning and it's a different beast — way more grip on the sand and real turbo punch.

My husband wanted a quad and I wanted a proper dinner, so the Evening Safari plus the 30-minute ATV solved the argument perfectly.

Second time booking a safari in Dubai and this crew beat the first company by a mile, especially on how organised the pickup was.

Kids on the fenced kids quad, us on the Kymco singles — the whole family rode and nobody felt left out. Helmets fit properly.

Honestly wasn't expecting much from a quad add-on, but 30 minutes on the Yamaha was one of the better parts of the whole safari.

Upgraded last minute to the Premium hot air balloon and the desert safari after landing was the best breakfast of the holiday.

Everything on the Evening Safari ran on time, which after two other operators cancelled on us felt like a small miracle.

Zero pressure the whole time — the lead guide read how confident each of us was and adjusted the route on the dunes to match.

Family-friendly from the first message — clear instructions before the drive, and the kids adored the camel ride at the camp.

Two-hour session on the 1000cc turbo buggy flew by. Sand everywhere, huge grins, and the roll cage never let us feel exposed.

Whole trip exceeded what I'd pictured, mostly because of how empty the dunes felt even in peak season. Would book again in a heartbeat.
